This week has been good, a few blips here and there, but mostly all smooth sailing. Today I see the surgeon for the first appointment post-op. Today is also the first day of pureed food. Honestly, I’m nervous. You can research this for days, you can create recipes till you have 5000, but taking that first bite is scary. At least it is for me.
I’ll be scrambling an egg then pureeing it. So for the next week, everything I eat is pureed. I can eat certain fruit as long as its pureed. I can have low fat, no sugar yoghurt, low fat sugar free pudding. So baby food here I come.
I have not talked about weight loss during this blog, seeing the numbers on a screen makes it all too real. So real here we go. September 5th, I started my pre-op diet. This consisted of 5 protein shakes a day, 5 fruits / veggies a day. and at least 94 oz of water daily.
I weighed in at 312 lbs. Yes I was 312 lbs. I saw that number and wondered how the heck did I get back there. Before starting this journey in October 2014, I weighed 349. I managed to lose 80 lbs. Due to circumstances I gained 40lbs of that back. That health issues pushed me toward seeking Bariatric surgery. So, my numbers so far:
HW: 349
Preop: 312
Surgery: 302
CW: 294
8 Lbs in a week. Not to bad I guess, we will see what happens from here.
The picture I chose today was at 270lbs, It was Rugby World Cup 2015 and I was wearing a jersey (xxxl) I could not wear for the 2011 world cup. Imagine my joy in being able to wear it. Lets hope I’ll fit into a large or even a medium rugby jersey.
