It has been a week and what a busy one at that.  Life goes on and I continue to eat the minuscule amounts allowed.  Truly, even if I tried to eat a lot more, I would not be able to.  I had a piece of Salmon in the week,  it was roughly 4 ounces and a piece of baked potato.  I hate most of the 1/2 baked potato and 3 ounces of the salmon.   Getting full these days means one of two things. 1. I start to feel like I’m choking; or 2.  I have this crazy pain below my sternum and my throat hurts.

I’m slowly adding a few things to my daily diet.  As yet I have not had salad, pork or beef.  My diet has been eggs, chicken, turkey (ground) and fish.   Vegetables have been potatoes, sweet potatoes and avocado’s.

I weighed this week and have reached a plateau.  I’ve read up about this and it seems the first 5 weeks I was steadily losing.  I’ve hit 282 and going back and forth a little.  mostly I stay right there at 282.

I’ve been reading up about Plateaus’s and what is called the fat whoosh.

Plateaus and Fat whoosh I think go hand in hand.  Fat whoosh is simple turns is when you’ve lost fat, but instead of fat cells  getting smaller, they retain water as a place holder in case you consume fat again.   Once the cell realizes you are not going to regain fat, it lets go of the water. And that is what is called the fat whoosh.   Even though I’ve lost inches,  I can tell by clothing that is very loose on me.  My tops and pants are  a bit baggy, yet the scale has not moved.   Perhaps that little whoosh will come in the next week or so.

Yesterday I bought a Crockpot Express cooker (crock pots version of an instapot).  I made  Chicken Tortilla Soup which I found on a bariatric foodie’s site.  OMG it was delicious.   Today I have spare ribs cooking,  we will see how that goes.  I’m quite excited about this new gadget.  I have a few other bariatric meals to try.  I’ll post more about that later.

This coming week starts 6 weeks since surgery, this means I can start working out.  4am I hope to be awake and hitting the elliptical. That I am not looking forward to especially since it is freaking cold outdoors at that time of the morning.  I also have my 6 weeks post op appointment with my physician.  Lets see if they’re happy with my progress.  More on this tomorrow.
