I tried ribs in the “instapot” and OMG the smell was awful. No, it wasn’t the pots fault, my stomach hated it, absofreakinglutely hated the smell. I finished cooking them, placed them in the oven on broil with some sugar free BBQ sauce. They smelt delicious.
I tried a small piece, and I mean small (should have taken a photograph). It was no more than 2-3 oz of pork. I chewed, chewed, chewed, swallowed. Repeated the process. Well last night, I was miserable. The pain was horrendous. I was nauseous, yes I tried to throw up again. Nothing but some liquid I had consumed about 3 hours earlier. I ate the ribs around 3pm, this was 8pm and it was not doing well in my stomach. I was curled up on my bed and would feel nauseous, run to the bathroom and try to throw up.
Around 6pm I ate about 2oz yogurt and a small banana. I’m guessing the pork had not moved through my pouch as yet and that is what was likely causing me pain. It was an absolute repeat of the bread, only this time I was prepared to throw up.
I was watching a video by a well known bariatric surgeon in New Mexico. Dr. V as he is known, showed food on a scale of soft to hard. This also equates to the various stages of eating after surgery. Fish and poultry are ideal for most of us. Pork is a little softer than beef, with beef being the hardest. I guess i’m sticking to fish and poultry from here on.
Thank goodness I actually like Turkey Ground beef. Let me get creative with my recipes now.
