NSV — Non surgical victories

These are the little things that put a smile on my face after surgery.

7 weeks post op and I actually have a few.  They may be silly to people, but to me they’re major victories.   The first is kind of stupid, but I love it.

  1. Feeling bones. For years I’ve known I have bones,  I could just never feel them.  WOW what a surprise, I can feel my pelvic bones.
  2. Energy.  I woke up yesterday morning and bounced out of bed.  Anybody that knows me, knows I do NOT bounce out of bed.  BTW this was 4:30am. I did my normal routine including stripping my bedding and shoved it in the washing machine.  I was out the door at 5:55am.  Usually I am dragging out the door at 6:03am or so.
  3. Baggy clothing. Yes, we all know this one is exciting. But feeling them slip around ones ass is a good feeling.
  4. Medication.  I have been taken off two of my meds for High blood pressure.  This is huge,  my goal is to get off meds for HTN and stop using the CPAP.
  5. Breathing.   Being able to breathe while walking is amazing.  I’m able to do my daily Thursday morning walk from  Main Street to my office  without huffing and puffing.  I don’t even get out of breathe.  I can actually have a conversation while walking.

These NSV’s feel good.  Even if I’m to losing weight, these small victors are amazing.
