Thanksgiving has come and gone.  It is one of the holidays that speaks over indulgence.  Turkey, dressing, mash potatoes and desserts like you’ve never tasted.  This is also the day that makes the beginning of silly season in the US.

Why silly season?  It is easy,   this begins the continued over indulgence of food, shopping  and general craziness.  In South Africa silly season started  around the same time, but this was the beginning of Christmas parties,  people getting together for a break, sundowners, etc.

Silly season is silly season no matter what hemisphere you’re in.

Thanksgiving lunch for me was simply but delicious.  I had previously bought a few pounds of shrimp which I portioned into 5/6 shrimp per bag.    I used a recipe I found on FlavCity.com.  The spices tasted amazing with the shrimp.  As a side, I had mashed potatoes (well one potato for 2 meals).  I added some nutmeg over the top. It was just delicious.  I did make some chocolate pudding. I like the low fat Fair life milk.

Overall, Thanksgiving day was a real success.
