A few things happened this week that were not pleasant.

  • I’ve discovered my intolerance for potato chips.
  • I realize that breakfast is very important.
  • Eating too much can keep me awake at night.

Sunday morning I went to the movies.  Because I had to leave home around 8:30am, I did not have breakfast.  When I got to the theater I decided a small sleeve of pringles and a bottle of water would suffice.  Silly me,  pringles basically becomes a glob in my stomach.  It sat there all freaking day.  I had difficulty eating lunch around 3pm, I could only eat a 1/2 bowl of soup.  Dinner didn’t happen as I was still full. The only thing I could consume was water.

  • Lesson learnt:  Avoid chips.

Monday night for dinner, I had a piece of salmon (around 5 oz) pan “fried” (in avocado oil) with about 2 tablespoons of sweet potato. I got distracted and ate my dinner rather quickly.  I think I was still full from Sunday’s debacle and lunch on Monday.  This sat in my stomach for what felt like all night.  I was in excruciating pain.  I could feel this moving throughout my body.  The pain was so intense,  I thought for a but that I may have a stricture or something like that.  This morning, the pain had subsided and I was feeling a little better, albeit tired.  Today I’m sipping protein drinks and water, hoping this will make me feel better.

  • Lesson learnt:  eat around 3oz meat and 2oz veggies.

I need to keep protein shakes on hand so that I have something available when I need protein but don’t feel like eating food.

This week I’m going to try using romaine lettuce as “bread” and make ham, hummus and cheese sandwiches.  Perhaps I’ll try a salad one night.
