Gastric Bypass menu

I have been promising to post a sample of my menu and meals.

It is your typical 3 meals and 2 snacks, just in much smaller quantities.

Breakfast –

  • Oatmeal with berries
  • Toast with Avocado / Peanut butter

Snack

  • Fruit (Banana, 1/2 apple, 1/2 cup of berries)

Lunch

  • Something with Beans / chickpeas and veggies or salad
    • I usually do something like a burrito bowl. I use salsa as a dressing or make an avocado dressing

Snack

  • Fruit / Hummus / Vegetables

Dinner

  • Whole grain with vegetables
    • Wholegrain pasta with onions, tomato, mushrooms
    • South western farro pilaf
    • Soup with wholegrain toast


I typically consume around 800 – 1,200 calories a day. I don’t count calories as one ends top fixating on numbers and not on nutrition. The goal is to eat nutrient dense food. Anything whole grain typically fits this.

I find one slice of Ezekiel bread with peanut butter keeps me more than satisfied for a few hours. The goal is to drink around 64 oz of water daily. I quite often have a problem with this, but am working on that. The more water consumed, the better.
