Then and now.

These are a few pics from the past few months.

The first is my day of surgery. October 1, 2019 when my life changed. The whole journey started June 2018. It started with a group informational session with the surgeon and his staff. There they discussed the process, their requirements and how this took would work.

They also discussed the various types of procedures they offer. And how each procedure is done The session took around 2 hours When I left, there. I knew this was something I wanted to do.

The second pic was after around 25lbs of weight loss. I finally have a neck. My dimples are more noticeable and I’m moving easier.

The 3rd was at 50lbs weight loss. My face is still puffy, but i have dimples back. I can see my chin and I have a decent neck. I still have bad days. Says I crave crap. I do give into chips. I cannot eat eggs. I have not had cookies or cake since prior to surgery.

Mardi Gras came and went and I ordered 2 king cakes, none was consumed by me. I’ve been to dinner and breakfast and eaten tacos. Nibbled on a chip or two.

Life is interesting. I try anew each day. It’s not easy, they never said it would be. But it is worth it.

I am so so proud of you. Your progress is tremendous. Keep it up and do not quit, no matter what!!!!!! The benefits on the other side are so worth the struggle you might face learning to handle your new stomach.

I had gastric bypass surgery 20 years ago at age 30. Back then, the success rate was only 20%, if not less. Today, I am 50 and have completed 4 Triathlons and 3 half marathons. I don’t have the perfect body, but I have a better body, a healthy body. Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing. Yes, I had some struggles, and still do, but so so worth it.

I am so proud of you!

Thank you so much. My surgeon has been amazing and is very supportive of his patients. This is not just about doing surgeries. He truly lives the lifestyle. I had no post op issues, had a really good recovery and with the exception of a few episodes of dumping, I did really well.
